The Seven Last Words of Our Saviour On the Cross, an orchestral work by Joseph Haydn, was commissioned in 1785 or 1786 for the Good Friday service at Cádiz Cathedral in Spain.

After its successful debut, the famous Haydn-piece will be performed now for the second time in the concept of the young conductor Gergely Dubóczky at the Concert Hall of BMC. The texts of the original sermon by the Bishop of Cádiz will be replaced by contemporary texts written by the renowned Hungarian writer Péter Esterházy, thus continuing the common heritage of the relation between Haydn and the Esterházy family.
