Gergely Dubóczky became principal conductor of the Alba Regia Symphony Orchestra in 2018. Their programme of Mussorgsky and Ravel reveals a passionate love for orchestral timbres, and an ambition to establish close links between music and the sister arts, literature and visual art.
The concert’s guest soloist is Dezső Ránki. His recent performance of Ravel’s popular concerto was praised for its effortless effervescence, tasteful sophistication, attention to detail, verve, a wry humour characteristic of the composer, as well as its vivaciousness, nimbleness, and tautness.
